Since childhood, I have struggled with excessive sweating. It didn’t take much—once the temperature rose above 20 degrees Celsius, sweat would pour down my body like a waterfall. Even in colder weather, if I had to walk for an extended period, I would end up completely soaked. It was a constant source of discomfort and embarrassment for me.

I visited many doctors over the years. They all told me the same thing: there was nothing wrong with me medically. According to them, I simply had an overactive metabolism or a genetic predisposition to sweat more than usual. But it was hard to accept. I was a young woman who constantly lived in fear of smelling bad or having visible sweat marks. It affected my confidence and made me avoid social situations.

At first, I tried all kinds of over-the-counter antiperspirants and deodorants, hoping for some relief. Then I changed my diet and even lost weight, thinking maybe that would help reduce the sweating. But none of it worked. I still sweated excessively, and nothing seemed to make a real difference. That’s when I decided to turn to natural remedies and herbal treatments.

I began researching folk medicine and reading about traditional plant-based solutions. Eventually, I found a routine that actually worked for me. It involved a combination of herbal baths, foot soaks, and nervous system support, and the results were almost miraculous.

Here’s what I did:

1. Herbal Full-Body Baths (2-3 times per week before bed):
I would mix the following dried herbs:

  • 3 teaspoons of yarrow
  • 4 teaspoons of nettle
  • 5 teaspoons of valerian root
  • 5 teaspoons of horsetail
  • 4 teaspoons of hop cones

I poured 2 liters of boiling water over the herbs, let the mixture steep for a while, then strained it and added it to a warm bath. I would soak in this herbal water before bed several times a week. The relaxation and healing effects were noticeable right away.

2. Foot Baths:
Separately, I would prepare foot baths using oak bark. I boiled 1/2 cup of oak bark in 1 liter of water for 15 minutes, then let it sit for another 30 minutes before straining. After that, I added 10 ml of 30% propolis tincture. I cooled the mixture to about 38°C (100°F) and soaked my feet for 20 minutes.

Just 10 to 12 of these foot bath sessions were enough to prevent foot sweating for the entire summer.

3. Supporting the Nervous System:
Sweating is controlled by the autonomic nervous system, so strengthening it is also essential. One of the best and simplest ways to do this is by taking contrast showers—alternating between hot and cold water. Not only does this boost your circulation, but it also helps regulate the nervous system, making your body more balanced and less reactive.

After just a few weeks of following this routine, I saw a huge difference. My sweating became manageable, and in some areas, it stopped almost entirely. But more importantly, I felt stronger, healthier, and more confident. I no longer feared going outside or meeting people. I could wear what I wanted without worrying about stains or odor.

The combination of herbal remedies, a bit of discipline, and natural therapies changed my life. It taught me that with patience and determination, it’s possible to overcome even the most persistent problems. You don’t always need medications or expensive treatments—sometimes nature and consistency are enough.

Today, I can confidently say that excessive sweating no longer controls my life. If you’re struggling with the same issue, give this method a try. It might just work for you, too.
