I came across several recipes for treating stomach ulcers in various traditional medicine books. However, I have a recipe that is completely different from those, and I have personally tested it on myself. For 21 days, I drank an infusion made from the roots of Kothuj (a local medicinal plant). After this period, I underwent a follow-up endoscopy, and the ulcer was no longer present. The doctors were amazed. This happened back in 2004. Since then, I have been feeling well, although I try to maintain a diet of healthy foods. Now, I would like to share this recipe with you:
Ingredients:
- 100 grams of Kothuj roots
- 500 grams of vodka or 40% alcohol
Preparation:
Pour the alcohol over the roots and let it stand for 2 weeks. After that, strain the mixture through double gauze and store it in a cool, dark place.
Usage:
Take 15-20 drops, 2-3 times a day, about 40 minutes before meals. It is best to take the drops on an empty stomach. This infusion is used for chronic gastritis with low acidity, as well as for stomach and duodenal ulcers, and in cases of diarrhea. It has proven effective for treating cholecystitis, liver inflammation, and kidney stones. Additionally, it soothes the nervous system and is suitable for rapid heartbeat.
Doctor’s Commentary:
Kothuj is a perennial plant characterized by a thick, horizontally growing root, which is grayish or greenish on the outside and white inside. Below the root, there are many thin roots. Above the root grows a three-sided stem that bears a single leaf and a cylindrical, taro-shaped flower cluster. The small flowers are greenish-yellow. Kothuj (also known as Kothkhoji, Egiri, or Jarkvatana) can be found in the marshy areas of western Georgia.
The roots of Kothuj contain mucilaginous substances, vitamin C, glycosides, and other bioactive compounds. Due to this composition, the plant has diverse medicinal effects. It improves appetite, aids digestion, and increases stomach secretion, while at the same time acting as an antacid by neutralizing stomach acid. Furthermore, the Kothuj infusion relaxes spasms, inhibits the growth of bacteria and fungi, reduces inflammation, and acts as a choleretic (promotes bile flow) and diuretic. It also calms the nervous system and has a mild analgesic effect.
In folk medicine, Kothuj infusion is used to treat gastrointestinal disorders, urinary stone diseases, gastritis, ulcers, diarrhea, hepatitis, and cholecystitis. Both alcohol-based and water-based infusions are used. The method for preparing the alcohol infusion was described above. To make a water infusion, follow these steps:
Pour 1 cup of boiling water over 1 tablespoon of Kothuj roots. Place the mixture over a water bath for 15 minutes, then strain. Drink 1/4 cup, three times a day, about 30 minutes before meals.
Personal Experience:
I believe I have permanently freed myself from stomach ulcers. Previously, the pain would flare up every spring and autumn. I was always to blame because I never fully completed the prescribed treatment or maintained the correct diet. I only remembered to take care of my health when the pain struck again.
