Today, I want to share with you an extraordinary and incredibly beneficial plant that I’ve personally tested and absolutely swear by. Ever since I discovered its healing properties, I’ve been genuinely amazed by its power. This is not just another herbal tip – this is something that has the potential to help with numerous ailments and improve your overall well-being.
Don’t Walk Past the Shothkva Shrub Without Noticing It!
If you ever come across a shothkva shrub (a traditional Georgian medicinal plant), don’t pass it by indifferently. Stop for a moment, take in its unique scent, and if you can, pick a bouquet of its flowers to take home. Believe it or not, even the smell of this plant has been known to kill harmful microorganisms. In ancient times, people used the flowers of the shothkva plant to purify water — they would simply place a few twigs in a container of water and let the plant work its magic.
I personally use shothkva flowers to treat a number of conditions. One of the most effective uses I’ve found is for conjunctivitis. To treat this eye condition, take one tablespoon of dried flowers and pour half a cup of boiling water over them. Allow it to steep for a while, and then use the infusion to gently wash your irritated eyelids. Within just two days, the redness and inflammation can completely disappear.
Beyond eye care, I also use shothkva to support healthy digestion and improve gut function. However, I must caution — if you are allergic to this plant, please be very careful before using it. Like any natural remedy, it may not be suitable for everyone.
What makes shothkva even more remarkable is that not only the flowers, but also the roots, leaves, and berries of the plant are beneficial. The root, for example, has diuretic, sweat-inducing, and fever-reducing properties. The leaves are rich in vitamins and nutrients, and the berries are considered one of the best natural remedies for digestive disorders, especially for diarrhea and upset stomach.
When it comes to headaches, muscle spasms, and even heart conditions, the root infusion of the plant offers excellent results. It acts as both a tonic and a calming agent, promoting relaxation and cardiovascular support. It’s also quite effective in cases of stomach ailments and nervous tension.
Here’s how to prepare the root infusion:
- Take 1 tablespoon of dried, crushed shothkva root
- Pour 1.5 cups of boiling water over it
- Place the mixture on a double boiler or hot water bath for 30 minutes
- Strain the liquid carefully
- Drink 1/3 cup, three times a day, before meals
To prepare an infusion from the berries, follow these steps:
- Add 1 tablespoon of dried berries to 1.5 cups of boiling water
- Let it steep in a hot water bath for 45 minutes
- Strain the mixture
- Drink half a cup 2–3 times a day, before meals
This berry infusion is particularly helpful in treating chronic enteritis, colitis, and even post-dysentery recovery. However, please note: shothkva berries contain a small amount of natural toxin, so it is very important to measure the dosage carefully and avoid overuse.
